Would you like to help design and build a key resource for the Drosophila community?

The Virtual Fly Brain project has obtained funding to build a web-based resource that integrates 3D images of the Drosophila brain with a data model capturing key neuro-anatomical information such as neuronal connectivity and function.  Associated genetic data will be integrated with this resource through a collaboration with FlyBase.

We are seeking a bio-curator, preferably with a background in neurobiology and/or Drosophila genetics, to work with us on this project.  The new curator will contribute to the design of data structures and query interfaces, as well as curating relevant data from the literature and solicited directly from major

neuro-labs.  The position is based in the FlyBase office within the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. The work is anticipated to provide good opportunities for publication and travel to international meetings.
